Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, P75ntr- FITC (ngfr) Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS605114

Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, p75NTR, generated by Chandlers et al. p75NTR, was originally discovered as a low affinity nerve growth factor receptor. Later it was found that it was the receptor for all neurotrophins. It mediates signals of neurotrophins for… More details

Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes the extracellular domain of the neurotrophin receptor p75NTR in rat. May be used for immunocytochemical localisation of rat cells expressing p75NTR, ELISA and western blot. This antibody has also been used for the construction of the MC192-saporin immunotoxin for specific elimination of neuronal populations in basal forebrain cholinergic neurons to generate an animal model for Alzheimer's disease. Does not react with mouse
Preparation and Storage
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to Rat p75NTR.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF)
Application Notes for anti-ngfr antibody
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry.
Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50
Flow Cytometry: 20ug/ml
ELISA: 1:5000
Immunohistochemistry:1-2ug/ml
Immunocytochemistry: 1:10-1:50

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-ngfr antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
