Rubella virus is a human pathogen that causes Rubella (also known as German measles). Rubella is a mild disease characterised by a low-grade fever and possibly a rash. Infection of a woman during the first trimester of pregnancy is far more serious and can lead to a range of birth defects commonly known as congenital rubella syndrome (CRS).

The capsid protein is a non-glycosylated, phosphorylated, disulfide-linked homodimer of 33-38kD. The protein contains clusters of proline and arginine residues, thought to be involved in binding to the viral RNA to form viral nucleocapsids.

Small volumes of anti-Rubella, Capsid Protein antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
