IRS1 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS609261

IRS1 (Insulin Receptor Substrate 1) transmits insulin signals via metabolic and mitogenic pathways. IRS1 is heavily phosphorylated on both serine and tyrosine residues. These phosphorylated tyrosines enable IRS to act as a docking protein that binds SH2… More details

Western Blot (WB) of anti-IRS1 antibody

Western Blot Analysis:|Untreated (lanes 1, 3, 5) and Calyculin A/Okadaic Acid-treated (lanes 2, 4, 6) IR/IRS1 transfected CHO cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with Anti-phospho-IRS1 (Ser307) (1:1,000 dilution). |Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. |Arrow indicates IRS1 phosphorylated on Ser307 (~185kD).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-IRS1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for IRS1

This gene encodes a protein which is phosphorylated by insulin receptor tyrosine kinase. Mutations in this gene are associated with type II diabetes and susceptibility to insulin resistance. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for IRS1

IRS1: an adaptor protein that is one of the major substrates of the insulin receptor kinase. Contains multiple tyrosine phosphorylation motifs that serve as docking sites for SH2-domain-containing proteins including phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit and GRB-2. Phosphorylated on ser/thr residues by kinases including JNK and IKK.
