Neurofilament H, Lysine-Serine-Proline Repeat Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS610318

Neurofilaments are a type of intermediate filament that serve as major elements of the cytoskeleton supporting the axon cytoplasm. They are the most abundant fibrillar components of the axon, being on average 3-10 times more frequent than axonal microtubules.… More details

Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
Neurofilament H, Lysine-serine-proline Repeat, Polyclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Neurofilament H, Lysine-serine-proline Repeat (NF-H)
Product Synonym Names
Anti -Neurofilament H, Lysine-serine-proline Repeat (NF-H)
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Host
Rabbit
Species Reactivity
Bovine, Chicken, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rat
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in PBS.
Purity/Purification
Serum
Neat Serum
Specificity
Strong reactivity to the major neurofilament subunit HF-H. Since a second neurofilament subunit, NF-M, also contains a few lysine-serine-proline sequences, there is generally some reactivity with this protein also. Stains both phosphorylate and dephosphorylated neurofilaments. Reactive in all higher vertebrates examined, including human, mouse, rat, bovine, porcine, chicken and certain reptiles
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli recombinant fusion protein containing 37 lysine-serine-proline repeats of rat NF-H.
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:250-1:1,000 Not affected by the level of neurofilament phosphorylation and is particularly good for revealing dendritic and perikaryal neurofilaments.
Immunoblotting
Electron microscopy
Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Neurofilament H, Lysine-serine-proline Repeat antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
