Product Categories/Family for anti-ST14 antibody

Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-ST14 antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes for anti-ST14 antibody
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 25ug/ml; 10ul labels 1-5x10e5 cells in a total reaction volume 200ul. For intracellular staining, cells must first be fixed and permeabilized using 4% paraformaldehyde, 0.1% saponin in PBS. Tested using PC-3 cells. The binding of unlabeled antibodies may be visualized by adding a secondary reagent such as anti-sheep IgG (FITC).
Direct ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml. Detection limit is ~0.5ng/well.
Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Detection limit is ~1ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions.

Testing Data of anti-ST14 antibody

PC-3 cells were stained with MBS610374 (filled histogram) or control antibody (open histogram) followed by FITC-conjugated anti-sheep antibody.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-ST14 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for ST14

The protein encoded by this gene is an epithelial-derived, integral membrane serine protease. This protease forms a complex with the Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor, HAI-1, and is found to be activated by sphingosine 1-phosphate. This protease has been shown to cleave and activate hepatocyte growth factor/scattering factor, and urokinase plasminogen activator, which suggest the function of this protease as an epithelial membrane activator for other proteases and latent growth factors. The expression of this protease has been associated with breast, colon, prostate, and ovarian tumors, which implicates its role in cancer invasion, and metastasis. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for ST14

ST14: Degrades extracellular matrix. Proposed to play a role in breast cancer invasion and metastasis. Exhibits trypsin-like activity as defined by cleavage of synthetic substrates with Arg or Lys as the P1 site. Defects in ST14 are a cause of ichthyosis autosomal recessive with hypotrichosis (ARIH). ARIH is a skin disorder characterized by congenital ichthyosis associated with the presence of less than the normal amount of hair. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Protease; EC 3.4.21.109
