Application Notes for anti-HOXA9 antibody
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and EMSA Complex Ablation.
Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Detects Hox A9 in C2C12 cell lysates treated with PV. C2C12 cell lysates treated with PV were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with H7023. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit IgG labeled with HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunofluorescence: Detects Hox A9 in fixed cells.
EMSA Complex Ablation: Disrupts DNA-protein complexes containing Hox A9 in EMSA.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-HOXA9 antibody

WB: Lysate from C2C12 cells treated with PV was probed with MBS610571 (1ug/ml).
Rabbit Anti-HOXA9 Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS610571

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-HOXA9 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for HOXA9

In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation. This gene is highly similar to the abdominal-B (Abd-B) gene of Drosophila. A specific translocation event which causes a fusion between this gene and the NUP98 gene has been associated with myeloid leukemogenesis. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the upstream homeobox A10 (HOXA10) gene.[provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for HOXA9

HOXA9: Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Required for induction of E-selectin and VCAM-1, on the endothelial cells surface at sites of inflammation. A chromosomal aberration involving HOXA9 is found in a form of acute myeloid leukemia. Translocation t(7;11)(p15;p15) with NUP98. A chromosomal aberration involving HOXA9 may contribute to disease progression in chronic myeloid leukemia. Translocation t(7;17)(p15;q23) with MSI2. Belongs to the Abd-B homeobox family.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Oncoprotein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor complex; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; sequence-specific DNA binding

Biological Process: embryonic forelimb morphogenesis; negative regulation of myeloid cell differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; embryonic skeletal development; multicellular organismal development; male gonad development; uterus development; endothelial cell activation; anterior/posterior pattern formation; mammary gland development; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; single fertilization; spermatogenesis; proximal/distal pattern formation
