Specificity
The 18 AA rat immunogenic peptide sequences is 100% homologous with mouse, 88% in human and 61% with monkey GAD67. Antibody crossreactivity in various species is not established. Control peptide, because of its low mol size (<3kD), is not recommended for Western. It should be used in ELISA, Dot Blot and for antibody blocking to confirm specificity of antibodies
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

An 18-aa peptide sequence near the amino terminus of mouse/rat GAD67 (KLH coupled).

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml, ECL. Antibodies made to this epitope have been shown to recognize the 67kD MW. Band in rat brain (2).
ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng control peptide/well.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
