Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
An 18 amino acid synthetic peptide ([C]GSVEQTPKKPGLRRRQT) linked to KLH was used to immunize rabbits. The human Kip1 sequence used (amino acids 182-198) shares 13/17 amino acids with murine Kip1. No other known proteins share more than 8 amino acids with the sequence.

Application Notes for anti-Kip1 p57 antibody
Suitable for use in Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Western Blotting: 1ug/ml detected Kip1 (~27kD) in a HeLa nuclear extract and a rabbit brain nuclear extract.
Immunohistochemistry: 5ug/ml showed positive immunostaining for Kip1 in formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded rat brain tissue.
Immunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitated Kip1 from a HeLa nuclear extract and a rabbit brain nuclear extract.
