Intended Uses
This ELISA kit is intended for laboratory in vitro research use only, not for drug, household or other use! The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm by a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration of Rat SDC1/CD138 in the sample, this ELISA kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of Optical Density versus Rat SDC1/CD138 concentration. The concentration of Rat SDC1/CD138 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Other Notes

Small volumes of SDC1/CD138 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS028765 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Syndecan-1/Cd138 (SDC1/CD138) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SDC1/CD138. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS028765 kit is based on SDC1/CD138 antibody-SDC1/CD138 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SDC1/CD138 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SDC1/CD138. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for SDC1/CD138

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. The syndecans mediate cell binding, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization and syndecan receptors are required for internalization of the HIV-1 tat protein. The syndecan-1 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins. Altered syndecan-1 expression has been detected in several different tumor types. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. These two represent the major variants of this gene and encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
