WASP Antibody – Goat Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS620382

N-WASP is a ubiquitously expressed member of the WASP family of proteins. The 65 kD, 505 amino acid, N-WASP seems to play a central role as a node interconnecting various actin networks. Over the region used as immunogen, human N-WASP is greater than 98%… More details

Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli-derived rhN-WASP (aa21-270)
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-WASP, N- antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
Application Notes for anti-WASP, N- antibody
Western Blot: This antibody can be used at 1.0ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect N-WASP., Immunocytochemistry: This antibody has been used at a concentration of 10ug/ml to detect human N-WASP on A431 human epidermoid carcinoma cells stimulated with EGF. Cells were fixed with PBS containing 4% paraformaldehyde and blocked with PBS containing 10% normal donkey serum, 0.1% Triton X-100, and 1% BSA. After blocking, cells were incubated with diluted primary antibody followed by Rhodamine RedTM-coupled anti-goat IgG at room temperature in the dark. Between each step, cells were washed with PBS containing BSA., Direct ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.5-1.0ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human N-WASP. The detection limit for rhN-WASP is approximately 1.0 ng/well., Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-WASP, N- antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI GI #
NCBI Official Full Name
Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein

NCBI Summary for WASP, N-

The Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) family of proteins share similar domain structure, and are involved in transduction of signals from receptors on the cell surface to the actin cytoskeleton. The presence of a number of different motifs suggests that they are regulated by a number of different stimuli, and interact with multiple proteins. Recent studies have demonstrated that these proteins, directly or indirectly, associate with the small GTPase, Cdc42, known to regulate formation of actin filaments, and the cytoskeletal organizing complex, Arp2/3. Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome is a rare, inherited, X-linked, recessive disease characterized by immune dysregulation and microthrombocytopenia, and is caused by mutations in the WAS gene. The WAS gene product is a cytoplasmic protein, expressed exclusively in hematopoietic cells, which show signalling and cytoskeletal abnormalities in WAS patients. A transcript variant arising as a result of alternative promoter usage, and containing a different 5' UTR sequence, has been described, however, its full-length nature is not known.
