AMP Activated Protein Kinase Alpha1 (KINB2) Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS620772

AMPK1 belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime- AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli… More details

UniProt Comments for KINB2

Function: Regulatory subunit of the probable trimeric SNF1-related protein kinase (SnRK) complex, which may play a role in a signal transduction cascade regulating gene expression and carbohydrate metabolism in higher plants. The SnRK complex may also be involved in the regulation of fatty acid synthesis by phosphorylation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase and in assimilation of nitrogen by phosphorylating nitrate reductase.

Subunit structure: Subunit of a probable heterotrimeric complex consisting of an alpha catalytic (KIN10 or KIN11) subunit, and a beta (KINB) and a gamma (KING or SNF4) non-catalytic regulatory subunits. Interacts with SNF4. Ref.1 Ref.8 Ref.9

Tissue specificity: Expressed in leaves, stems, roots, flower buds and flowers. Not detectable in siliques. Ref.1

Induction: Repressed in the dark. Ref.1

Domain: Kinase-interacting sequence (KIS) is specific for the alpha catalytic subunit interaction and Association with SNF1 Complex (ASC) is specific for the gamma non-catalytic regulatory subunit interaction. Ref.7

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase beta subunit family.

Sequence caution: The sequence AEE83735.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally extended. The sequence CAB10413.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Frameshift at positions 11, 19 and 27. The sequence CAB78678.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Frameshift at positions 11, 19 and 27.
