Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-RARRES3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for RARRES3

Retinoids exert biologic effects such as potent growth inhibitory and cell differentiation activities and are used in the treatment of hyperproliferative dermatological diseases. These effects are mediated by specific nuclear receptor proteins that are members of the steroid and thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of transcriptional regulators. RARRES1, RARRES2, and RARRES3 are genes whose expression is upregulated by the synthetic retinoid tazarotene. RARRES3 is thought act as a tumor suppressor or growth regulator. UniProt Comments for RARRES3

RARRES3: Exhibits PLA1/2 activity, catalyzing the calcium- independent hydrolysis of acyl groups in various phosphotidylcholines (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). For most substrates, PLA1 activity is much higher than PLA2 activity. N- and O-acylation activity is hardly detectable. Belongs to the H-rev107 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.1.1.-; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: phospholipase A2 activity; protein binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; phospholipid metabolic process; lipid catabolic process
