Specificity
Recognizes human Smad2 Mr 55-60kD and Smad3 Mr 50kD as determined by using Smad2 and Smad3 transfected Cos cells. Species Crossreactivity: Predicted to crossreact with mouse and rat based on conservation of immunogen sequence.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 detects Smad2/3 in RIPA lysates of HepG2 cells. An additional unknown band was detected at Mr 97kD in the lysate.

Chemiluminescence of anti-Smad2,3 antibody

Representative blot from a previous lot. HepG2 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Smad2/3 (1:1000 dilution). Proteins were visualized using a goat antirabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Smad2 (~55-60kD).
