Western Blot (WB) of anti-RB1 antibody

Western Blot analysis of Rb phosphorylation in human fibroblasts synchronized by serum deprivation, using Phospho-Rb (Ser807/811) Antibody. Cells were synchronized for 24 hours then released by addition of serum and harvested at the times indicated. Cell cycle progression was verified by cyclin analysis and FACS. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-RB1 antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of untreated (left) or serum treated (right) U2-OS cells (upper) or SAOS-2 (Rb deficient) cells (lower), using Phospho-Rb (Ser807/811) Antibody.
Rabbit Anti-RB1 Polyclonal Antibody, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) – Cat# MBS623894

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-RB1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for RB1

The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for RB1

Rb: retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein regulates cell proliferation by controlling progression through the G1-phase restriction point. Has three distinct binding domains and interacts with regulatory proteins including the E2F family of transcription factors, c-Abl tyrosine kinase and proteins with a conserved LXCXE motif. Cell cycle-dependent phosphorylation by Cdks inhibits Rb target binding, thus allowing cell cycle progression. Recruits and targets histone methyltransferase suv39h1 leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression.
