Coronin 1a (CORO1A) Antibody – Chicken Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS625284

Coronin 1A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CORO1A gene. It has been implicated in both T-cell mediated immunity and mitochondrial apoptosis. In a recent genome-wide longevity study, its expression levels were found to be negatively associated… More details

Testing Data of anti-CORO1A antibody

Dissociated cell culture from a neonatal mouse brain showing Coronin 1A (green staining) of microglial cells using MBS625284. These cultures were counter-stained with rabbit antibodies against NFM (neurofilament, red staining), a neuronal marker, as well as DAPI (blue staining), a marker of nuclei. Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CORO1A antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CORO1A

This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), which may facilitate formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been defined on chromosome 16. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for CORO1A

coronin 1A: May be a crucial component of the cytoskeleton of highly motile cells, functioning both in the invagination of large pieces of plasma membrane, as well as in forming protrusions of the plasma membrane involved in cell locomotion. In mycobacteria- infected cells, its retention on the phagosomal membrane prevents fusion between phagosomes and lysosomes. Belongs to the WD repeat coronin family.
