Receptor A, Alpha 1 (GABA) Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS630743

GABA (g-amino butyric acid) is the most abundant neurotransmitter in mammalian brain. GABA exerts its effects through ionotropic ligand-gated GABAA, GABAC and GABAB receptors (GABABRs). A family of GABA-A receptors subtypes exists, which are generated by… More details

Product Name
GABA Receptor A, alpha 1, Polyclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Anti-GABA Receptor A, alpha 1 (Gamma-aminobutyric Acid Receptor Type A alpha 1 Subunit, GAA1)
Product Synonym Names
Gamma-aminobutyric Acid Receptor Type A alpha 1 Subunit; GAA1
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Host
Rabbit
Species Reactivity
Bovine; Chicken; Human; Mouse; Rat
Form/Format
Supplied as liquid in PBS, pH 7.4 and 0.1% BSA, 0.02% sodium merthiolate, 40% glycerol.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Concentration
1mg/ml (lot specific)
Specificity
The 14 AA rat control peptide is 100% conserved in mouse, human, bovine and chicken GAA1 (2). No significant homology is detected with other GABA A receptor subtypes or other receptors. The control peptide, because of its small size (<3kD) is not recommended for Western. It should be used in ELISA or antibody blocking studies to confirm specificity of antibodies
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Shipping Temperature: Blue Ice
Immunogen
A 14 AA Peptide sequence near the N-terminus of rat GAA alpha 1 subunit (2). The peptide was coupled to KLH
Source Information
Rat
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-GABA Receptor A, alpha 1 antibody
ELISA; Western Blot
Recommended Dilutions: Western Blotting(1:1000-1:5000 for neat serum and 1-10ug/ml for affinity pure antibody using ECL.
ELISA:1:10,000-50,000 for neat serum and 0.5-1ug/ml for affinity purified. Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1ug/ml.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-GABA Receptor A, alpha 1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
