Neurogenin 3 (NEUROG3) Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS632276

Neurogenins are a family of bHLH transcription factors involved in specifying neuronal differentiation. They are related to Drosophila atonal. The neurogenins (ngns) make up one of these atonal-related gene families. In neural crest cells, the atonal-related… More details

Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 detected Neurogenin 3 on 10ug of mNgn3 transfected rabbit reticulocyte lysates.
Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 detected Neurogenin 3 in mouse embryo E12.5+ tissue.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-NEUROG3 antibody

Paraffin-embedded mouse embryo E12.5+ tissue was prepared using heat-induced epitope retrieval in citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Immunostaining was performed using a 1:500 dilution of MBS632276. Reactivity was detected using the IHC-Select Detection Kit. Immunoreactivity is expressed in embryonic brain in synaptic processes. Staining pattern apears to be cytoplasmic.

Chemiluminescence of anti-NEUROG3 antibody

mNgn3 transfected (lane 2) and wildtype (lane 1) rabbit reticulocyte lysates were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF membranes and probed with a 1:1000 dilution of MBS632276. Proteins were visualized using a donkey anti-rabbit (HRP) and chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Neurogenin 3 (~32kD).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-NEUROG3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for NEUROG3

The protein encoded by this gene is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor involved in neurogenesis. The encoded protein likely acts as a heterodimer with another bHLH protein. Defects in this gene are a cause of congenital malabsorptive diarrhea 4 (DIAR4).

UniProt Comments for NEUROG3

neurogenin 3: Acts as a transcriptional regulator. Together with NKX2- 2, initiates transcriptional activation of NEUROD1. Involved in neurogenesis. Also required for the specification of a common precursor of the 4 pancreatic endocrine cell types. Defects in NEUROG3 are the cause of diarrhea type 4 (DIAR4). DIAR4 is a characterized by severe, life- threatening watery diarrhea associated with generalized malabsorption and a paucity of enteroendocrine cells.
