Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.

Biological Activity

Application Notes for HIV-1 env gp160, Strain YU2 active protein
A dose dependent response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration for use in specific applications. ELISA and Western ELISA require 10-100ng protein depending on the nature and affinity of the detection reagent. Human serum polyclonal antibodies yield titers of 1:1000 or greater at 10-100ng of immobilized protein under standard ELISA conditions.

Small volumes of HIV-1 env gp160, Strain YU2 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap.
