Western Blot (WB) of anti-UBASH3B antibody

Detection of Human and Rat UBASH3B/STS1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HCT116 human colorectal carcinoma cell line, HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line, MOLT4 human acute lymphoblastic leukemia cell line, U118MG human glioblastoma/astrocytoma cell line, U2OS human osteosarcoma cell line, and Y3Ag rat myeloid cell line. PVDF Membrane was probed with 2ug/ml of Human/Rat UBASH3B/STS1 Antigen Affinitypurified Polyclonal Antibody followed by HRPconjugated Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for UBASH3B/STS1 at approximately 72kD (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

NCBI Summary for UBASH3B

This gene encodes a protein that contains a ubiquitin associated domain at the N-terminus, an SH3 domain, and a C-terminal domain with similarities to the catalytic motif of phosphoglycerate mutase. The encoded protein was found to inhibit endocytosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for UBASH3B

STS-1: Interferes with CBL-mediated down-regulation and degradation of receptor-type tyrosine kinases. Promotes accumulation of activated target receptors, such as T-cell receptors and EGFR, on the cell surface. Exhibits tyrosine phosphatase activity toward several substrates including EGFR, FAK, SYK, and ZAP70. Down-regulates proteins that are dually modified by both protein tyrosine phosphorylation and ubiquitination.

Protein type: Protein phosphatase, tyrosine (non-receptor); EC 3.1.3.48

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q24.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein tyrosine phosphatase activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of protein kinase activity; regulation of release of sequestered calcium ion into cytosol
