UniProt Comments for CHORDC1

Function: Regulates centrosome duplication, probably by inhibiting the kinase activity of ROCK2. Proposed to act as co-chaperone for HSP90. May play a role in the regulation of NOD1 via a HSP90 chaperone complex. In vitro, has intrinsic chaperone activity. This function may be achieved by inhibiting association of ROCK2 with NPM1. Involved in stress response. Prevents tumorigenesis. Ref.10

Subunit structure: Interacts with HSP90AA1, ROCK1 and ROCK2. Interacts with HSP90AB1 and PPP5C

By similarity. Ref.10 Ref.11

Tissue specificity: Underexpressed in many breast and lung cancers. Ref.10

Sequence similarities: Contains 2 CHORD domains.Contains 1 CS domain.

Sequence caution: The sequence AAH17789.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally extended.
