EBF-2 (EBF2) Antibody – Sheep Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS649769

EBF-2 is a 62kD member of the COE family of transcription factors. It is expressed in immature osteoblasts and Purkinje cells, and in the embryo is associated with the migration of postmitotic neuroblasts. In immature osteoblasts, EBF-2 appears to upregulate… More details

Western Blot (WB) of anti-EBF2 antibody

Detection of Human and Mouse EBF-2 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of 3T3-L1 mouse embryonic fibroblast adipose-like cell line and HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1ug/ml of Sheep Human/Mouse EBF-2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody followed by HRP -conjugated Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for EBF-2 at approximately 65kD. This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 8.
Sheep Anti-EBF2 Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS649769

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-EBF2 antibody

EBF-2 in Mouse Embryo. EBF-2 was detected in immersion fixed frozen sections of mouse embryo (15 d.p.c.) using Sheep Mouse EBF-2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody at 10ug/ml overnight at 4°C. Tissue was stained using the Sheep HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to developing muscle cells. Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-EBF2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for EBF2

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the COE (Collier/Olf/EBF) family of non-basic, helix-loop-helix transcription factors that have a well conserved DNA binding domain. The COE family proteins play an important role in variety of developmental processes. Studies in mouse suggest that this gene may be involved in the differentiation of osteoblasts. UniProt Comments for EBF2

Function: Transcription factor that, in osteoblasts, activates the decoy receptor for RANKL, TNFRSF11B, which in turn regulates osteoclast differentiation. Acts in synergy with the Wnt-responsive LEF1/CTNNB1 pathway. Recognizes variations of the palindromic sequence 5'-ATTCCCNNGGGAATT-3'

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Forms either a homodimer or a heterodimer with a related family member

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Nucleus

Potential.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the COE family.Contains 1 IPT/TIG domain.

Sequence caution: The sequence BAB13843.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.
