Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Biological Activity
Determined by measuring the dose dependent stimulation of chemotaxis of human neutrophils in a modified Boydon Chamber. Significant chemotaxis is observed with 50ng/ml. The suggested concentration range for in vitro studies is 50ng/ml. The optimal concentration should be determined for each specific application.

Other Notes

Small volumes of NAP1L4 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for NAP1L4

This gene encodes a member of the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family which can interact with both core and linker histones. It can shuttle between the cytoplasm and nucleus, suggesting a role as a histone chaperone. This gene is one of several located near the imprinted gene domain of 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with the Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian, and breast cancer. UniProt Comments for NAP1L4

Subcellular location: Nucleus.

Tissue specificity: Ubiquitous. Biallelically expressed in fetal and adult tissues. Highest levels in testis.

Post-translational modification: Polyglutamylated by TTLL4, a modification that occurs exclusively on glutamate residues and results in polyglutamate chains on the gamma-carboxyl group. Some residues may also be monoglycylated but not polyglycylated due to the absence of functional TTLL10 in human

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family.
