Store unopened medium at 2-30 degree C. Store opened medium container in a low humidity environment at 2-30 degree C. Store liquid medium at 4 degree C. The powder medium should be discarded if it is not free flowing or if the color has changed from the original light beige color.

Application Notes for Peptone Water culture media
Dilution: Carbohydrate Fermentation Study: 1% final carbohydrate concentration with phenol red (0.018g/L) indicator and Durham tube. After incubation a yellow broth with or without gas bubbles indicates a positive fermentation reaction.
Indole Test: Place an indole test strip 10mm above a 24-48 hr. broth culture. Reincubate for 5-30 minutes. A violet red color on the test strip indicates a positive reaction.

Other Notes

Small volumes of Peptone Water culture media vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
