Application Notes for Cooked Meat Medium Modified w/o glucose (R.C. Medium) culture media
Suitable for the cultivation of anaerobes and stock culture maintenance. Used to differentiate saccharolytic from proteolytic Clostridium sp. Saccharolytic species form acid and gas without digesting the meat. Proteolytic species form sulfur compounds (putrid smell) and break down the meat to amino acids (blackening). Also suitable for recovery of Clostridium botulinum from foods. Expected cultural response after 40-48 hours at 35°C.

Small volumes of Cooked Meat Medium Modified w/o glucose (R.C. Medium) culture media vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
