CD94 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS666268

Information: Human CD94 expression is restricted to natural killer (NK) cells and a small subset of T lymphocytes. CD94 is a type II membrane glycoprotein of the c-type lectin superfamily and essentially lacks a cytoplasmic tail. Antibody HP-3D9 recognizes… More details

Performance
Ficoll prepared human peripheral white blood cells were stimulated by incubating 1 day at 5 x 106 cells/ml in RPMI 10% FBS media including 5 mug/ml Phytohemagglutinin-P. Five x 105 cells per tube were then washed and incubated 45 minutes on ice with 80 mul of anti-CD94/FITC at a 1:100 dilution (5mug/ml). Cells were washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.09 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1/FITC negative control at a similar concentration. Binding was blocked when cells were pre incubated 10 minutes with 20 mul of 0.5 mg/ml anti-CD94 antibody.
Conjugation
FITC
Production
Protein A purified antibody from tissue culture supernatant was reacted with FITC. Unconjugated FITC was separated from antibody/FITC conjugate by desalting column. The antibody/FITC conjugate is at 0.25 mg/ml with a Fluorescein/IgG molar ratio of 8.6.

NCBI Summary for CD94

Natural killer (NK) cells are a distinct lineage of lymphocytes that mediate cytotoxic activity and secrete cytokines upon immune stimulation. Several genes of the C-type lectin superfamily, including members of the NKG2 family, are expressed by NK cells and may be involved in the regulation of NK cell function. KLRD1 (CD94) is an antigen preferentially expressed on NK cells and is classified as a type II membrane protein because it has an external C terminus. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
