Application Notes for anti-IL7 antibody
Research Application(s): ELISA Detection: BVD10-11C10 monoclonal antibody is useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying human IL-7 protein levels.1,2 Biotinylated BVD10-11C10 antibody should be paired with purified BVD10-40F6 antibody as the capture antibody, with purified recombinant human IL-7 as the standard.
Western Blotting: The purified BVD10-11C10 antibody is also useful for immunoprecipitation and Western blotting applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5 ug/mL (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of <= 100 ng/lane of recombinant human IL-7 under reducing conditions.
Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.

NCBI Summary for IL7

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine important for B and T cell development. This cytokine and the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) form a heterodimer that functions as a pre-pro-B cell growth-stimulating factor. This cytokine is found to be a cofactor for V(D)J rearrangement of the T cell receptor beta (TCRB) during early T cell development. This cytokine can be produced locally by intestinal epithelial and epithelial goblet cells, and may serve as a regulatory factor for intestinal mucosal lymphocytes. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this cytokine plays an essential role in lymphoid cell survival. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Additional splice variants have been described but their presence in normal tissues has not been confirmed.
