Application Notes for anti-CSF2 antibody
Research Application(s): ELISA Detection: MP1-31G6 monoclonal antibody is useful as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse GM-CSF protein levels.1,3-5 Biotinylated MP1-31G6 antibody should be paired with purified MP1-22E9 antibody as the capture antibody, with purified recombinant mouse GM-CSF as the standard.
Western Blotting: The purified MP1-22E9 antibody is also useful for immunoprecipitation4 and Western blotting applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5 ug/mL (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of <= 100 ng/lane of recombinant mouse GM-CSF under reducing conditions.
Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CSF2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CSF2

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes and macrophages. The active form of the protein is found extracellularly as a homodimer. This gene has been localized to a cluster of related genes at chromosome region 5q31, which is known to be associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in the cluster include those encoding interleukins 4, 5, and 13. [provided by RefSeq]
