Human CD11a (LFA-1alpha)
CD11a, also known as leukocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1alpha), represents the 180 kDaintegrin alphaL subunit which combines with the CD18 beta2 integrin subunit to form the alphaLbeta2 integrin heterodimer. It is expressed on lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, and macrophages and is upregulated on activated T cells. CD11a/LFA-1alpha mediates adhesion of lymphocytes to vascular endothelium and is involved in costimulation.1-5
Preparation and Storage
The R-phycoerythrin (R-PE), allophycocyanin (APC), and Spectral Red (SPRD) conjugates are supplied as 100 tests in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze!
Characterization
To insure lot to lot consistency, each batch of product is tested by flow cytometry to conform with the characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Warning
Reagents contain sodium azide which is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
