ICAM-1 Antibody – Rat Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS690600

Intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), also known as CD54, binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1 and Mac-1. ICAM-1 expression is weak on leukocytes, epithelial and resting endothelial cells, as well as some other cell types, but expression can be… More details

Antibody Generation
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma (mouse myeloma fused with spleen cells from a rat immunized with cytokine stimulated mouse endothelial cells. IgG fraction of the culture supernatant was purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography. ICAM-1, a 95 kDa surface antigen found on endothelial cells, lymphocytes, epithelial cells, dendritic cells, and keratinocytes. ICAM-1 is a ligand for LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and MAC-1(CD11b/CD18). Its expression is up regulated upon stimulation by inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and LPS and it's involved in B cell T-cell co- stimulatory interactions.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute the antibody with 400 ul sterile PBS and the final concentration is 500 ug/ml.
ISO Certification
Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Laboratory.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - Paraffin, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes for anti-ICAM-1 antibody
1. Flow Cytometery: Yes (1:100-1000) 2. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Yes (1:500-2000)

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-ICAM-1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for ICAM-1

Function: ICAM proteins are ligands for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2). During leukocyte trans-endothelial migration, ICAM1 engagement promotes the assembly of endothelial apical cups through ARHGEF26/SGEF and RHOG activation

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Homodimer. Interacts with MUC1 and promotes cell aggregation in epithelial cells. Interacts with ARHGEF26/SGEF

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

Tissue specificity: Expressed at low level on a subpopulation of lymphocytes, macrophages, and endothelial cells, but is strongly induced on these cells, and on fibroblasts and epithelial cells.

Post-translational modification: Monoubiquitinated, which is promoted by MARCH9 and leads to endocytosis

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. ICAM family.Contains 5 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains.
