G-CSF Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS691096

G-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the development of committed progenitor cells to neutrophils and enhances the functional activities of the mature end-cell. It is produced in response to specific stimulation by a variety of cells… More details

Application Notes for anti-G-CSF antibody
Western Blot: To detect human G-CSF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 g/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant human G-CSF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-G-CSF antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for G-CSF

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes. The active protein is found extracellularly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

UniProt Comments for G-CSF

Function: Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This CSF induces granulocytes.

Subunit structure: Monomer.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Post-translational modification: O-glycan consists of Gal-GalNAc disaccharide which can be modified with up to two sialic acid residues (done in recombinantly expressed G-CSF from CHO cells).

Pharmaceutical use: Available under the names Neupogen or Granulokine (Amgen/Roche) and Granocyte (Rhone-Poulenc). Used to treat neutropenia (a disorder characterized by an extremely low number of neutrophils in blood).

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily.

Caution: Ref.7 misquotes the gene name as "CSF1".
