MIG (CXCL9) (MIG) Human Active Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS691716

MIG, a CXC chemokine, is produced by IFN stimulated monocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells. It signals through the CXCR3 receptor. MIG selectively chemoattracts Th1 lymphocytes, and also exerts other activities including inhibition of tumor growth,… More details

Preparation and Storage
Stability:
The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month and at 4 degree C for 6 months. Reconstituted working aliquots are stable for 1 week at 2 degree C to 8 degree C and for 12 months at -20 degree C to -80 degree C.

Reconstitution:
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-0.5 mg/m. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8 degree C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20 degree C to -80 degree C.

Other Notes

Small volumes of MIG active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for MIG

The function of this gene has not been specifically defined; however, it is thought to be involved in T cell trafficking. This gene has been localized to 4q21 with INP10, which is also a member of the chemokine family of cytokines. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for MIG

Function: Cytokine that affects the growth, movement, or activation state of cells that participate in immune and inflammatory response. Chemotactic for activated T-cells. Binds to CXCR3.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Induction: By IFNG/IFN-gamma. The induction is enhanced by TNF in dermal fibroblasts and vein endothelial cells.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.
