Application Notes for anti-KC antibody
Sandwich ELISA: To detect mKC by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Murine KC as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant mKC.

Western Blot: To detect mKC by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant mKC is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-KC antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for KC

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines, which recruit and activate leukocytes, are classified by function (inflammatory or homeostatic) or by structure. This secretory protein is proposed to bind the G-protein coupled receptor chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 2 to recruit neutrophils. In mouse, deficiency of this gene is associated with colitis and with defects in immune cell recruitment to the lung. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

UniProt Comments for KC

CXCL2: Produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils and expressed at sites of inflammation. Hematoregulatory chemokine, which, in vitro, suppresses hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. GRO-beta(5-73) shows a highly enhanced hematopoietic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell; extracellular region; cytosol

Molecular Function: growth factor activity; chemokine activity; CXCR chemokine receptor binding; cytokine activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; neutrophil chemotaxis; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; positive regulation of superoxide release; response to molecule of bacterial origin; positive regulation of potassium ion transport; response to lipopolysaccharide; positive regulation of leukocyte chemotaxis; immune response; inflammatory response; acute inflammatory response; regulation of cell proliferation
