Application Notes for anti-MIP-1 alpha antibody
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Rat MIP-1 alpha (100 ng/ml), a concentration of 8.0-10.0 ug/ml of this antibody is required.

Sandwich ELISA: To detect Rat MIP-1 alpha by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Rat MIP-1 alpha as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat MIP-1 alpha.

Western Blot: To detect Rat MIP-1 alpha by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat MIP-1 alpha is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Small volumes of anti-MIP-1 alpha antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Required for lung TNF-alpha production, neutrophil recruitment and subsequent lung injury and may function as an autocrine mediator for the macrophage production of TNF-alpha which in turn up-regulates vascular adhesion molecules required for neutrophil influx. This protein binds heparin.
