Application Notes for anti-RANTES antibody
Direct Detection: To detect Rat RANTES by direct ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat RANTES.

Sandwich ELISA: To detect Rat RANTES by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with Polyclonal Anti-Rat RANTES as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat RANTES.

Western Blot: To detect Rat RANTES by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 ug /ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat RANTES is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-RANTES antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for RANTES

may play a role in cellular response to viral infection in testicular somatic cells [RGD, Feb 2006]

UniProt Comments for RANTES

Chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils. Causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. May activate several chemokine receptors including CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. May also be an agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor GPR75. Together with GPR75, may play a role in neuron survival through activation of a downstream signaling pathway involving the PI3, Akt and MAP kinases. By activating GPR75 may also play a role in insulin secretion by islet cells.
