Application Notes for anti-NRTN antibody
Direct Detection: To detect hNeurturin by direct ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hNeurturin.

Sandwich ELISA: To detect hNeurturin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with Polyclonal Anti-Human Neurturin as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hNeurturin.

Western Blot: To detect hNeurturin by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 mug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hNeurturin is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-NRTN antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for NRTN

Neurturin is a member of the TGF-beta subfamily, TRN. This gene signals through RET and a GPI-linked coreceptor, and promotes survival of neuronal populations. A neurturin mutation has been described in a family with Hirschsprung Disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for NRTN

NRTN: Supports the survival of sympathetic neurons in culture. May regulate the development and maintenance of the CNS. Might control the size of non-neuronal cell population such as haemopoietic cells. Genetic variations in NRTN may contribute to Hirschsprung disease, in association with mutations of RET gene, and possibly mutations in other loci. Hirschsprung disease is a disorder of neural crest development is characterized by the absence of intramural ganglion cells in the hindgut, often resulting in intestinal obstruction. Belongs to the TGF-beta family. GDNF subfamily.
