Application Notes for anti-IFN-beta antibody
Immunohistochemistry:
This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human normal placenta. The recommended concentration is 0.75ug/ml with an overnight incubation at 4 degree C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended. Tissue samples were provided by the Cooperative Human Tissue Network, which is funded by the National Cancer Institute.

Neutralization:
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Human IFN-beta (5.00 ug/ml), a concentration of 2.5 ug/ml of this antibody is required.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IFN-beta by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human IFN-beta (MBS695514) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human IFN-beta.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IFN-beta by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human IFN-beta is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Optimal dilutions should determined by each laboratory for each application.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-IFN-beta antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
