Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity/Purification
Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized MCSF although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution MCSF should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Biological Activity
The activity is determined by dose-dependent induction of M-NFS-60 cell proliferation and is typically less than 2 ng/ml. This corresponds to an expected specific activity of 5x105 units/mg.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MCSF in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of M CSF active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for M CSF

Cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. Promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. Plays an important role in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development. Required for normal male and female fertility. Promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. Plays a role in lipoprotein clearance ().
