IFN-Gamma ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS697343

Principle of the Assay: IFN-gamma is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells, and also by mast cells and NK cells. Targeted deletion of IFN-gamma in mice resulted in impaired Th2 cell development and indicated an important role… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of IFN-gamma elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS697343 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the IFN-gamma, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IFN-gamma. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS697343 kit is based on IFN-gamma antibody-IFN-gamma antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IFN-gamma antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IFN-gamma. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for IFN-gamma

This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated with aplastic anemia.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

UniProt Comments for IFN-gamma

IFNG: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons. Homodimer. Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. Belongs to the type II (or gamma) interferon family.
