Peptidylprolyl Isomerase A (Cyclophilin A) (PPIA) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS702050

Introduction: Cyclophilins, abbreviated Cyp, are proteins that bind to cyclosporine (cyclosporin A), an immunosuppressant which is usually used to suppress rejection after internal organ transplants. These proteins have peptidyl prolyl isomerase activity,… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PPIA elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for PPIA purchase

MBS702050 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the peptidylprolyl isomerase A (cyclophilin A) (PPIA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PPIA. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS702050 kit is based on PPIA antibody-PPIA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PPIA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PPIA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PPIA

This gene encodes a member of the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family. PPIases catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and accelerate the folding of proteins. The encoded protein is a cyclosporin binding-protein and may play a role in cyclosporin A-mediated immunosuppression. The protein can also interact with several HIV proteins, including p55 gag, Vpr, and capsid protein, and has been shown to be necessary for the formation of infectious HIV virions. Multiple pseudogenes that map to different chromosomes have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for PPIA

Function: PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides.

Catalytic activity: Peptidylproline (omega=180) = peptidylproline (omega=0).

Enzyme regulation: Binds cyclosporin A (CsA). CsA mediates some of its effects via an inhibitory action on PPIase.
