Other Notes

Small volumes of STMN1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS736152 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Stathmin 1 (STMN1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing STMN1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS736152 kit is based on STMN1 antibody-STMN1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect STMN1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, STMN1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for STMN1

This gene belongs to the stathmin family of genes. It encodes a ubiquitous cytosolic phosphoprotein proposed to function as an intracellular relay integrating regulatory signals of the cellular environment. The encoded protein is involved in the regulation of the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules. It prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

UniProt Comments for STMN1

STMN1: a microtubule-associated protein involved in the regulation of the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules. It prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Phosphorylation reduces tubulin binding 10-fold and suppresses the MT polymerization inhibition activity. Present in much greater abundance in cells from patients with acute leukemia of different subtypes than in normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, nonleukemic proliferating lymphoid cells, bone marrow cells, or cells from patients with chronic lymphoid or myeloid leukemia.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.11

Cellular Component: microtubule; neuron projection; membrane; cytoplasm; intracellular; cytosol

Molecular Function: tubulin binding; signal transducer activity

Biological Process: mitotic spindle organization and biogenesis; axonogenesis; response to virus; negative regulation of microtubule polymerization; microtubule depolymerization; positive regulation of cell motility; brain development; signal transduction; neurite development; regulation of cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis
