MBS761632 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 (MAP2K5) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MAP2K5. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS761632 kit is based on MAP2K5 antibody-MAP2K5 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MAP2K5 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MAP2K5. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for MAP2K5

The protein encoded by this gene is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase specifically interacts with and activates MAPK7/ERK5. This kinase itself can be phosphorylated and activated by MAP3K3/MEKK3, as well as by atypical protein kinase C isoforms (aPKCs). The signal cascade mediated by this kinase is involved in growth factor stimulated cell proliferation and muscle cell differentiation. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

UniProt Comments for MAP2K5

MEK5: a dual specificity protein kinase of the STE7 family. Activates ERK5 and is itself phosphorylated and activated by MEKK3, as well as by atypical protein kinase C isoforms. Involved in growth factor stimulated cell proliferation and muscle cell differentiation. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
