Other Notes

Small volumes of ABO elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for ABO purchase

MBS762759 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Histo-blood group ABO system transferase, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ABO. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS762759 kit is based on ABO antibody-ABO antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ABO antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ABO. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ABO

This gene encodes proteins related to the first discovered blood group system, ABO. Which allele is present in an individual determines the blood group. The 'O' blood group is caused by a deletion of guanine-258 near the N-terminus of the protein which results in a frameshift and translation of an almost entirely different protein. Individuals with the A, B, and AB alleles express glycosyltransferase activities that convert the H antigen into the A or B antigen. Other minor alleles have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for ABO

ABO: This protein is the basis of the ABO blood group system. The histo-blood group ABO involves three carbohydrate antigens: A, B, and H. A, B, and AB individuals express a glycosyltransferase activity that converts the H antigen to the A antigen (by addition of UDP-GalNAc) or to the B antigen (by addition of UDP-Gal), whereas O individuals lack such activity. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 6 family.

Protein type: Glycan Metabolism - glycosphingolipid biosynthesis - lacto and neolacto series; Membrane protein, integral; EC 2.4.1.37; Transferase; EC 2.4.1.40

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q34.2

Cellular Component: extracellular region; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: fucosylgalactoside 3-alpha-galactosyltransferase activity; glycoprotein-fucosylgalactoside alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase activity; metal ion binding

Biological Process: protein amino acid glycosylation

Disease: Blood Group, Abo System
