Other Notes

Small volumes of DUSP1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS764660 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Dual specificity protein phosphatase 1 (DUSP1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing DUSP1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS764660 kit is based on DUSP1 antibody-DUSP1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DUSP1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DUSP1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for DUSP1

The expression of DUSP1 gene is induced in human skin fibroblasts by oxidative/heat stress and growth factors. It specifies a protein with structural features similar to members of the non-receptor-type protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, and which has significant amino-acid sequence similarity to a Tyr/Ser-protein phosphatase encoded by the late gene H1 of vaccinia virus. The bacterially expressed and purified DUSP1 protein has intrinsic phosphatase activity, and specifically inactivates mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase in vitro by the concomitant dephosphorylation of both its phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues. Furthermore, it suppresses the activation of MAP kinase by oncogenic ras in extracts of Xenopus oocytes. Thus, DUSP1 may play an important role in the human cellular response to environmental stress as well as in the negative regulation of cellular proliferation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for DUSP1

MKP-1: a non-receptor, dual-specificity phosphoprotein phosphatase (DUSP). Different members of the DUSP family show distinct substrate specificities for MAPKs, different tissue distribution and subcellular localization, and different modes of inducibility of their expression by extracellular stimuli. DUSP1 specifically inactivates mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase in vitro by the concomitant dephosphorylation. It is induced in human skin fibroblasts by oxidative/heat stress and growth factors. Contains 1 rhodanese domain.
