Other Notes

Small volumes of CAPZbeta elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS076829 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Capping Protein Muscle Z Line Beta (CAPZbeta) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CAPZbeta. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS076829 kit is based on CAPZbeta antibody-CAPZbeta antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CAPZbeta antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CAPZbeta. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for CAPZbeta

Function: F-actin-capping proteins bind in a Ca2+-independent manner to the fast growing ends of actin filaments (barbed end) thereby blocking the exchange of subunits at these ends. Unlike other capping proteins (such as gelsolin and severin), these proteins do not sever actin filaments. May play a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization.

Subunit structure: Heterodimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. Component of the WASH complex

By similarity. Isoform 2 also is a component of dynactin complex from brain, which contains the actin-related protein ARP1. Ref.2

Subcellular location: Isoform 1: Cytoplasm › myofibril › sarcomere › Z line. Note: In cardiac muscle, isoform 1 is located at Z-disks of sarcomeres. Ref.2Isoform 2: Cytoplasm › myofibril › sarcomere › I band. Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton

By similarity. Note: In cardiac muscle, isoform 2 is located at sarcomere intercalated disks. Ref.2

Tissue specificity: Isoform 1 is detected in pectoral muscle, cardiac muscle and gizzard. Isoform 2 is detected in brain and liver (at protein level). Isoform 2 is the predominant isoform ofnonmuscle tissues and isoform 1 is the predominant isoform ofmuscle tissues. Ref.2

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the F-actin-capping protein beta subunit family.
