The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ACTG1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS008016 kit is based on ACTG1 antibody-ACTG1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ACTG1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ACTG1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Function: Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells.

Subunit structure: Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to 4 others.

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton.

Post-translational modification: Oxidation of Met-45 and Met-48 by MICALs (MICAL1, MICAL2 or MICAL3) to form methionine sulfoxide promotes actin filament depolymerization. MICAL1 and MICAL2 produce the (R)-S-oxide form. The (R)-S-oxide form is reverted by MSRB1 and MSRB2, which promote actin repolymerization
