Western Blot (WB) of anti-SRC antibody

Western blot analysis of c-SRC expression in HeLa (A), HuvEc (B), Jurkat (C), COLO205 (D) whole cell lysates.
Rabbit Anti-SRC Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS820312

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-SRC antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of c-SRC staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
Rabbit Anti-SRC Polyclonal Antibody, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) – Cat# MBS820312

Immunofluorescence (IF) of anti-SRC antibody

Immunofluorescent analysis of c-SRC staining in HuvEc cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-SRC antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for SRC

This gene is highly similar to the v-src gene of Rous sarcoma virus. This proto-oncogene may play a role in the regulation of embryonic development and cell growth. The protein encoded by this gene is a tyrosine-protein kinase whose activity can be inhibited by phosphorylation by c-SRC kinase. Mutations in this gene could be involved in the malignant progression of colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for SRC

Src: proto-oncogenic cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase of the SRC family. Highly expressed in certain fully differentiated cells such as neurons, platelets and macrophages. Phosphorylation of an activation loop tyrosine activates the enzyme; phosphorylation of a tyrosine in the C-terminus by Csk inhibits the enzyme. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
