WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IH (1/100 - 1/200)

Western Blot (WB) of anti-RTCA antibody

Western blot analysis of RPC expression in HeLa (A), NIH3T3 (B), rat stomach (C) whole cell lysates.
Rabbit Anti-RTCA Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS820971

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-RTCA antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of RPC staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-RTCA antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for RTCA

This gene encodes a member of the RNA 3'-phosphate cyclase family. The encoded protein plays a role in RNA metabolism by catalyzing the ATP-dependent conversion of the 3'-phosphate of RNA substrates to a 2',3'-cyclic phosphodiester. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

UniProt Comments for RTCA

RTCD1: Catalyzes the conversion of 3'-phosphate to a 2',3'- cyclic phosphodiester at the end of RNA. The mechanism of action of the enzyme occurs in 3 steps: (A) adenylation of the enzyme by ATP; (B) transfer of adenylate to an RNA-N3'P to produce RNA- N3'PP5'A; (C) and attack of the adjacent 2'-hydroxyl on the 3'- phosphorus in the diester linkage to produce the cyclic end product. The biological role of this enzyme is unknown but it is likely to function in some aspects of cellular RNA processing. Belongs to the RNA 3'-terminal cyclase family. Type 1 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ligase; EC 6.5.1.4; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p21.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: RNA binding; RNA-3'-phosphate cyclase activity; ATP binding
