WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IH (1/100 - 1/200)

Western Blot (WB) of anti-KCNJ9 antibody

Western blot analysis of Kir3.3 expression in rat brain (A) whole cell lysates.
Rabbit Anti-KCNJ9 Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS821806

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-KCNJ9 antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of Kir3.3 staining in human brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-KCNJ9 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for KCNJ9

Potassium channels are present in most mammalian cells, where they participate in a wide range of physiologic responses. The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and inward-rectifier type potassium channel. The encoded protein, which has a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into a cell rather than out of a cell, is controlled by G-proteins. It associates with another G-protein-activated potassium channel to form a heteromultimeric pore-forming complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for KCNJ9

GIRK3: This receptor is controlled by G proteins. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterized by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. Belongs to the inward rectifier-type potassium channel (TC 1.A.2.1) family. KCNJ9 subfamily.

Protein type: Channel, potassium; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23.2

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; G-protein activated inward rectifier potassium channel activity; PDZ domain binding

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; potassium ion import
