Application Notes for anti-FGFR1OP antibody
WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IH (1/100 - 1/200)

Western Blot (WB) of anti-FGFR1OP antibody

Western blot analysis of FOP expression in MCF7 (A), MDAMB231 (B), MDAMB435 (C), mouse brain (D), rat brain (E) whole cell lysates.
Rabbit Anti-FGFR1OP Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS822104

Western Blot (WB) of anti-FGFR1OP antibody

Western blot analysis of FOP expression in THP1 (A), mouse testis (B) whole cell lysates.
Rabbit Anti-FGFR1OP Polyclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS822104

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-FGFR1OP antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of FOP staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-FGFR1OP antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for FGFR1OP

This gene encodes a largely hydrophilic centrosomal protein that is required for anchoring microtubules to subcellular structures. A t(6;8)(q27;p11) chromosomal translocation, fusing this gene and the fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) gene, has been found in cases of myeloproliferative disorder. The resulting chimeric protein contains the N-terminal leucine-rich region of this encoded protein fused to the catalytic domain of FGFR1. Alterations in this gene may also be associated with Crohn's disease, Graves' disease, and vitiligo. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been identified. UniProt Comments for FGFR1OP

FOP: Required for anchoring microtubules to the centrosomes. A chromosomal aberration involving FGFR1OP may be a cause of stem cell myeloproliferative disorder (MPD). Translocation t(6;8)(q27;p11) with FGFR1. MPD is characterized by myeloid hyperplasia, eosinophilia and T-cell or B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. In general it progresses to acute myeloid leukemia. The fusion proteins FGFR1OP-FGFR1 or FGFR1-FGFR1OP may exhibit constitutive kinase activity and be responsible for the transforming activity. Belongs to the FGFR1OP family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q27

Cellular Component: centrosome; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein tyrosine kinase inhibitor activity; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; organelle organization and biogenesis; positive regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of protein kinase activity; mitotic cell cycle; G2/M transition of mitotic cell cycle; positive regulation of cell growth; positive regulation of cell migration
