Other Notes

Small volumes of CTSB elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS824763 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cathepsin B (CTSB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CTSB. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS824763 kit is based on CTSB antibody-CTSB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CTSB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CTSB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CTSB

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase C1 family and preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate multiple protein products. These products include the cathepsin B light and heavy chains, which can dimerize to generate the double chain form of the enzyme. This enzyme is a lysosomal cysteine protease with both endopeptidase and exopeptidase activity that may play a role in protein turnover. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit reduced pancreatic damage following induced pancreatitis and reduced hepatocyte apoptosis in a model of liver injury. Pseudogenes of this gene have been identified in the genome. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
